Hip-hop artist Ron Dance to debut new project at birthday celebration

As the snow falls harder and the temperatures drop drastically, we all know what it's time for. No, I'm not talking about the holidays - though those are nice too - I'm talking about Detroit's own Russell "Ron Dance" Howard's birthday bash.

Last year we celebrated Ron Dance's project release of his "Some Guys Win 'Em All" EP at the luxurious and new Honey Nightclub. Ron Dance performed to a crowded club, along with his friend Ro Spit and the 22nd Street Band, and wowed the audience with this style and charisma. Which begs the question: What's he gonna do to top that?

This years event will be held at the ultra-chic Plush lounge on December 29. In anticipation for the event, Ron Dance locked himself away for a month to put the finishing touches on his new album, which he'll be releasing at Plush that night. Not only will we get to hear new music, but Ron Dance will also be debuting his new group with Nameless called Flidelphia - which will, incidentally, be the new tunes we get to hear.

After the performance, the birthday festivities will kick off. Hosted by Ro Spit with sounds by DJ Skeez, the night is bound to be one for the record books. And, knowing Ron Dance, you never know who is gonna pop in.

The details: This event is 21 and up. Doors are at 9 p.m., cover is $10.

Plush is located at 13090 Inkster Rd., Redford 48239.
