Hip hop albums we'd like to see in 2014

See also

2013 was a great year for hip hop. Veterans like Jay Z and Eminem both released an album in 2013. Both of them had a lot of hype behind their albums. Drake delivered a great album that took over the radio. New artists like Chance the Rapper and Vic Mensa also shined. With all these great albums released this year, what does next year hold for us? We won't know until next year but these are some of the albums we'd like to see.

Kanye West released Cruel Summer in 2012 and while their were rumors of a Cruel Winter album, it never saw the light. 2014 might be a great year to release the album. The first album had incredible songs and whenever Kanye makes an album, the world can't stop talking about it.

Speaking of Kanye West, Watch the Throne was one of the albums that everyone loved. The sequel has also garnered buzz and since both Jay Z and Kanye West released a solo album together, they may both hit the studio together and make Watch The Throne 2.

Kenrick Lamar took over the rap world with his second album, Good Kid, M.A.A.d City. That album exemplifies what hip hop really is. It wasn't radio friendly yet it received love because it sounded like a tradional hip hop album. The world wants to see how King Kendrick will top his album that has been called a classic by many.

Black Hippy is considered to be the best group in rap. Slaughterhouse might have something to say about that but the crew made up of Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul and Schoolboy Q have taken the hip hop scene by storm. If the group does make an album together, they will officially be regarded as one of the best groups in hip hop.

Chance the Rapper isn't a veteran like everyone else on the list but he earned his right to be on the list. His mixtape Acid Rap was incredible. He single-handedly won the internet with the mixtape. Chance's raps are so full of life that they jump at you when you listen to his songs. Everyone wants a friend like Chance. His mixtape was something Kanye West would have made a few years ago. He hasn't signed to a major label but you don't need those to win in this day and age. Chance's first album is going to show his growth as an artist. He is still very young and that is the scary part. He is only going to get better over time and his first official album will show everyone what to expect for years to come.

Last but not least, Detox will always make the list every year. That album has no official release date but everyone is hoping it drops one day. If it does, It should drop like Beyonce's latest album; no promotion. It would be nice to wake up one morning to find out Detox was finally released.
