Hinrich out tonight against Warriors

Kirk Hinrich will miss his sixth straight game and 21st overall with a stress reaction in his right foot.

His status was probable following a Thursday afternoon practice. He believed he would return to the lineup if he didn’t suffer a setback.

Before Friday morning’s shootaround, he revealed to reporters that he had indeed suffered a setback.

“At least I know where I’m at with that little level of activity and I still have a ways to go, I guess,” Hinrich said. “I want to be out there as soon as I can, but it was pretty lit up [Thursday] night and this morning, so just keep doing the things they’re telling me to do and hopefully it’ll be ready as soon as possible.

“They [the Bulls’ training staff] wanted to give me some level of an idea of where I was at and the little activity yesterday made it pretty sore, so I’m not quite there yet. I was told just to take it easy and hopefully it calms back down to where I was, and just start moving forward again.”

Taj Gibson will also miss his ninth consecutive game, as he is still progressing from a sprained left MCL.

Richard Hamilton didn’t travel with the team on this current west coast road trip and will miss his eight straight games while he is still recovering from back spasms.

Derrick Rose is also out after coach Tom Thibodeau left the door open for his return, listing his status as ‘unlikely’ after Thursday’s practice.
