Kirk Hinrich will miss his second straight game with a sore back when the Bulls take on the Orlando Magic.
Marquis Teague will get the start once again with D.J. Augustin backing him up.
Coach Tom Thibodeau is hopeful that Hinrich won’t be out too much longer. He could play in the team’s back-to-back games against the Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder that begins on Wednesday.
Thibodeau also said that Hinrich returning sooner than later factored into the team releasing Mike James today after the veteran point guard was seen in the team’s morning shootaround.
“Mike’s done a good job throughout his career,” Thibodeau said. “He did a great job for us. We appreciate all that he brought to our team. For us, we just wanted to keep some flexibility as we move forward. But Mike’s a terrific player and a guy who did a great job for us.”
The Bulls (9-13) have lost 10 of their last 13 games and their last three at home.
