Kirk Hinrich will miss his third straight game when the Bulls take on the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Hinrich went through the team’s shootaround on Saturday morning and was listed as a game-time decision.
“It was good overall, but we just want to make sure,” coach Tom Thibodeau said. “He’s a little sore. Just give him another day and see where he is tomorrow.”
With a three-day break before their Christmas game in Brooklyn, Thibodeau said he’s hopeful that Hinrich will be able to go against the Nets.
“He’s moving better. The fact that he did shooting (Friday). Today, to be able to go through shootaround is a good sign that he’s moving in the right direction.”
Thibodeau is also hopeful that both Luol Deng and Jimmy Butler, who are also out tonight, will be able to go on Christmas as well.
D.J. Augustine will get his third straight start.
“He’s done a good job of recognizing who’s going well,” Thibodeau said of Augustine. “One of the big pluses, I think he understands when to shoot and when to pass. And the fact that he’s been around…he’s started before. He’s done a good job of picking things up and I think he’s gotten more comfortable.”
