Hingham Civic Music Theatre presents Charles Dickens musical classic 'Oliver!' (Video)

Excitement is building for Hingham Civic Music Theatre’s thrilling spring musical, ‘Oliver’ based on Charles Dickens famous novel, ‘Oliver Twist.’ Charles Dickens recently celebrated his bicentennial birthday last year making this musical's timing absolutely perfect! Performances will be held on Saturday, April 13, Friday, April 19, and Saturday, April 20 at 7:30 p.m. Sunday matinees will take place on April 14 and April 21 at 2 p.m.

Director Bill Boyer, music director John Duff, and choreographer Janet Fortier are delighted to be working with such a captivating cast! As director Bill Boyer exclaims, “You will see such wonderful energy from the entire cast and faultless performances by (Tyler Cavanagh) as the Artful Dodger, (Dave Daly) as the righteous Mr. Bumble, and (Ellen Spordacia) as Widow Corney.”

Hingham Civic Music Theatre performed a rich musical preview during a special gallery opening at Laura’s Center for the Arts, 75 Mill Street in Hanover, Massachusetts on Friday, March 22. The catchy musical preview included famous ‘Oliver’ numbers such as ‘Oom Pah-Pah,’ ‘Pick a Pocket,’ ‘Who Will Buy,’ and ‘It’s a Fine Life’ and ‘Consider Yourself.’ ‘Oliver’ tells the story of a poverty-stricken workhouse orphan who dared to ask for more out of life. Colorful characters, suspenseful drama, and triumphant moments make up this stirring family musical about greed, hope, and family.
