While driving to Canada to visit friends I decided to stop and do some exploration on the way. I stopped in the Catskills. I was immediately impressed by the beauty of the mountains and spectacular scenery. I was surprised to find out there were no companies providing sightseeing tours of the Catskills from New York City. The only tours offered were hardcore hiking groups where the participants have to be in very good shape, since they usually hike about 8 hours a day, or there was regular bus service without any sightseeing. I decided to start some sightseeing tours for the “average” leisure New York traveler. I investigated everything I needed to start adventures like this, such as general business start up, how to get incorporated, getting insurance, and how to become a state licensed hiking guide.
