Hinano Café doesn’t offer a happy hour. Why? Because there’s no need to, since they have the best burger around town for only $6.00. Hinano Café, located in Venice right by the beach also offers free music on the weekends.
Local singer songwriter Geoffrey J. has played just about everywhere in Venice and is excited to play Hinano Café on Sunday February 19th. Originally from Tucson AZ, Geoffrey talks about living in this eclectic artist community, “I love Venice, the people, the art and the sunsets, I love the sunsets on Rose Ave.”
Geoffrey started playing bass in a band, when he was just fourteen. He alsostarted writing at a young age and taught himself various instruments such as drums, piano, harmonica and guitar.
When asked what he likes best about performing, he thinks for a second, then with a boyish grin explains, “I love the initial crowd vibe, when you first get out in front of the audience, it feels like you have to prove yourself.” He adds, “I also love to collaborate with other musicians, there are so many talented people here in Venice.”
Geoffrey J. is known for his roots rock originals. His melodies offer a straightforward bluesy feel. Geoffrey works solo, also as a duo and sometimes with a full band. He has been inspired by industry legends such as John Lennon, Bob Dylan, Lou Reed and David Bowie. In addition to his originals, he also plays a broad range of cover tunes.
This driven singer/songwriter, has attracted much attention, playing festivals, local venues and has also released two CDs.
Geoffrey J. will perform with guitarist James Elliot at Hinano Cafe, Sunday, February 19th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Hinano Café is an old Venice biker bar, known for its inexpensive, yet tasty burgers.
