While fans of How I Met Your Mother are bracing themselves for what's sure to be a weepy finale at the end of next month, Alyson Hannigan will apparently be sticking around the network after the Mother is met.

According to Deadline on Friday, Hannigan has signed on for a CBS comedy pilot called More Time With Family, which is being produced by the Oscar-winning duo of Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. Hannigan, 39, will play Cindy, the female lead and wife to Tom, played by comedian Tom Papa.

The sitcom is said to center around Papa's character, who makes a career adjustment in order to spend more time with his family. Material for the show is reportedly based in part on Papa's stand-up and Damon's personal experiences.

Cathy Yuspa and Josh Goldsmith, a husband and wife team who worked on The King of Queens, 13 Going on 30, and What Women Want, will executive produce and write along with Papa. Additional executive producers include Dave Becky (Everybody Hates Chris) and Josh Lieberman, who has produced two of Papa's stand-up TV movies.

Deadline notes that Hannigan is the first of the five original HIMYM cast members confirmed to have landed a new pilot.

First things first, however, as Hannigan and the rest of the HIMYM gang still need to shoot the series finale. Co-creator Craig Thomas finished up the script for the hour-long episode on Feb. 10 and revealed that filming for the big sendoff is set to begin this coming week. The How I Met Your Mother series finale airs March 31.
