'HIMYM' fun facts: Which actress turned down the roll of Robin?

On Feb. 6 Mirror shares a Reddit live conversation between creators of the "How I Met Your Mother" Carter Bays and Craig Thomas. While most people were dying to know about the upcoming one-hour season finale, they refused but did offer up some other fun facts of the show that many fans were likely not privy to.

One of the biggest bombshells dropped by Bays after a fan asked which famous actress turned down a role on the show, was the fact that Cobie Smulders wasn't the first choice to play Robin Scherbotsky. In fact, Jennifer Love Hewitt was the first pick for Robin, but she turned down the opportunity to join "Ghost Hunters" instead. Further more, Josh Radnor wasn't the first pick to play Ted either. Scott Foley was originally asked to do it but when he didn't give any response, Josh stepped up to be the hopeless romantic, Ted Mosby.

When fans found out that Smulders wasn't first pick, some were outraged while others were relieved to know that she did join because she is one of the favorite characters of the show with all her Canadian nonsense she delivers on the show.

Are you surprised to know that Jennifer Love Hewitt turned down a role for "How I Met your Mother?"
