Hillyer Gallery dedicates the first Fridays of each month to art and culture in DMV. Starting March 1, every first Friday, come check out a collaborative artistic open house! Hillyer is proud to present paintings by Spanish artist Narciso Maisterra, mix media works by South Korean artist Jungmin Park, and new works by the member artist Garth Fry during opening reception on March 1, 6-9 pm.
The collaborative body of artwork on display is united by a common theme of self exploration and healing. Maisterra’s exhibit Passing Through the Body Without Staying is a testament to healing through creativity caused by a personal injury.
Park's The City Stories looks back on personal memories, cities and objects from distant and close past and how they visualize with natural and man-made objects.
Fry takes you on a journey of psychology of isolation though shapes and forms that are void of applied color - raw, coiled paper and glue.
Hillyer has been voted the Best Gallery of 2012 by the readers of Express, a publication of the Washington Post. This first Friday open house is a true artistic collaboration that will make you look and see beyond expected and recognized!
The gallery is located at 9 Hillyer Court, NW, Washington, DC 20008.
