This year’s fair, which runs through Sunday, October 20, features Robinson’s Racing Pigs, The Firefighter Show, and the Family Fun Circus. In the entertainment tent there will be shows with Donny and Sandy throughout the fair days.
The livestock tent houses displays of a wide, colorful variety of chickens. sheep, dairy cows, beef cattle, goats, and rabbits may also be viewed in the tent. There will be showmanship events for each category, and even costume contests for goats and cows. Swine sales are Saturday evening.
And what is a fair without a little competition? Each day will include a different event: whip-cracking, tractor driving, and a battle of the bands. Visitors may purchase a separate ticket for the Ranch Rodeo on Friday and Saturday evenings. There will be a kids’ cooking contest on Saturday, and a chili cook-off on Sunday.
The fairgrounds are located on the east side of Brandon on State Route 60. Gates open at 5 PM on Thursday, noon on Friday, and 10 AM on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for students, and $4 for seniors. Children ages five and younger get in free. There is no charge for parking.
