It appears Hillary Clinton is about to get the Gov. Chris Christie treatment in the press. Mark February 9, 2014 on your political calendar as the start of the “Anti-Hillary for President Movement.”
Clinton’s “friend” and former adviser, Diane Blair, kept an archive of memos and documents now divulged by the Washington Free Beacon on Sunday, which may provide the type of ammunition that has brought Chris Christie’s polling numbers cascading south.
A total of 40 documents were published which set the tone of “ruthless lady” in their content.
For instance, on May 12, 1992, while her husband ran for president, she sent out a memo entitled, “Research on Hillary Clinton." Two pollsters for Bill Clinton's presidential campaign actually conceded Arkansas voters “liked” her, but “they also fear that only someone too politically ambitious, too strong, and too ruthless could survive such controversy so well.”
They went on to say, “What voters find slick in Bill Clinton, they find ruthless in Hillary.”
That was only the beginning of the late Diane Blair’s pointed comments and actual documents. She died in 2000 and her husband donated her papers to the University of Arkansas library following her death. She had been a political science professor described by many as Hillary Clinton’s “closest friend.”
The papers have actually been made public since 2010.
There are a litany of other memos in the article which include:
It was common knowledge among the higher staff that the former first lady let her opinions on policy and presidential appointments be known while she was a White House resident.
One memo was published that said, “Hillary adamant; Bill must devise new outside strategy; we’re getting killed." The memo was dated Feb. 23, 1993. It went on to say, "Congress a bunch of whiners; no courage. Her health care plan will save billions in long run but will cost big $ up front. Members of Congress don’t work; only 3 days a week; only care for re-election. Bill clearly not very happy w. his own crew and advisers. Hillary urging hard ball.”
May 19, 1993, “HC says press has big egos and no brains, that the White House is just going to have to work them better; that her staff has figured it out and would be glad to teach Bill’s staff,” Blair wrote.
May 17, 1994, “She keeps trying to shape things up, knows what’s wrong, but Bill can’t fire people, exert discipline, and punish leakers. Never had strategy for Whitewater, troopers, Paula Jones, inability to organize, make tough choices, drives her nuts.”
Shortly after Bill Clinton’s impeachment, Blair documented a phone call she had with Hillary Clinton in which Blair writes, “Hillary sounded very up, almost jolly. “Told me how she and Bill and Chelsea had been to church, to a Chinese restaurant, to a Shakespeare play, greeted everywhere with wild applause and cheers this, she said is what drives their adversaries totally nuts, that they don’t bend, do not appear to be suffering.”
Ironically, the article listing the personal memos of Diane Blair comes the very same day that leaked portions of U.S. Army Gen. David Petraceus’s coming book show his incredulous “support” of her actions as Secretary of State following the Benghazi attack in Sept, 2012.
Let the campaign of 2016 begin.
