If the trustees of the National Constitution Center wanted a controversy for the celebration of the Liberty Medal, they got what they wanted last night. Hillary Clinton was the recipient. She has accomplished a lot. First lady, senator and Secretary of State . She is known for the stand she took for gay and lesbian rights. She traveled extensively as Secretary of State. Some people feel that, as Secretary of State, her handling of Benghazi was substandard and she played a role in helping American's die. For that, she faces her toughest critics, some of whom stood across the street carrying signs .Other protesters have denounced her for her remarks made about supporting the US going into Syria. While it is doubtful that Hillary heard any of the protesters, those in the audience certainly did. Former Governor of Florida, Jeb Bush ,who now Chairs the National Constitution Center was there and gave a short talk . He joked during his remarks that Clinton will be in Des Moines , Iowa, next week. "Don't actually wear the medal there, Madame Secretary", Bush joked. Iowa is an important state in presidential elections. Hillary Clinton has all but announced her candidacy for the White House in 2016.
