The Presidents and Their Wealth

As the nation’s influential Secretary of State during President Barack Obama’s first presidential term, Clinton earned $186,000 annually. Following in her husband’s footsteps to the bank - much like former President Bill Clinton – Hillary Clinton will be doing the speech circuit with a hefty fee to the organizations that want to hear her speak. It is reported that the former Secretary of State will be charging $200,000 per speech if and when she speaks.

It is also reported that the former Secretary of State will speak without charge when she speaks on causes she chooses to champion.

During Mrs. Clinton’s supposed-retirement, she will also be working on her next book to earn money. Her last book which was published in 2000 – Living History – earned her an $8 million advance from Simon and Schuster.

The Harry Walker Agency, a firm that has a successful history of putting newsmakers including politicians on the lecture circuit, also represented former President Bill Clinton after his second term in the White House. Via the speeches the former president gave from 2001 through 2010, he earned a whopping $75 million. In 2010 alone, he reportedly made $10 million.

Bill Clinton is the 9th wealthiest president of the 43 presidents of the United States according to a report released by Huffington Post on Presidents Day 2013.

Others who are represented by Harry Walker Agency included former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and former Vice President Al Gore who both charge in excess of $100,000 per speech given.
