On Thursday (Jan. 26), Hillary Clinton stated during a town hall meeting with State Department employees that she “is ready to step off the high wire of American politics,” according to a report from ABC News. Also, Clinton elaborated by saying she is not paying any attention to the Republican presidential nomination and has not watched any of the debates. Her remarks suggest she is emotionally tired of the ‘high wire’ stress within the political life arena.
The stress hormone, cortisol, is an indicator for high stress situations. In one study, people with high cortisol levels (very stressed) were least likely to vote in political elections. With this information, Clinton shows typical signs of being stressed with the desire to remove the current political agendas from her life. (Continue below)

Clinton is currently the Secretary of State, previously a New York Senator for New York from 2001 to 2009. Being the wife of the 42nd President of the United States, Bill Clinton, she was the First Lady of the United States from 1993 to 2001.
