Readers may recall that Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton fainted due to a stomach virus. A concussion was found following the fainting spell. The blood clot that is now a concern is thought to be from the concussion, and was found during what was considered a routine exam which was part of the follow-up after the concussion.

According to information published online, Clinton is being given anti-coagulants and should be in the hospital for the next 2 days.

Clinton is in the process of finishing her appointment as Secretary of State. President Barack Obama has chosen Senator John Kerry to replace Clinton. However, the Senate must approve this choice.
