On Feb. 21, the Huffington Post released photos of Hillary Clinton’s choice of fashion for a group photo at the G20 Ministers of Foreign Affairs meeting in Mexico. Clinton opted for a chartreuse (lime green) pantsuit, possibly unaware that all the others chose white attire. The meeting consisted of discussions on fiscal and trade policies with foreign affairs ministers (Feb. 19-20) which provided an opportunity for a group picture.

The Secretary of State demonstrated her independent thinking and ability to not be influenced by the en masse with her decision. Clinton could have made arrangements to change her apparel before the photo was taken to blend in but appeared unaffected by the variation. This miniscule behavior of autonomy reflects Clinton’s strong personality and self-confidence. (Continue below)
Last month, Clinton told State Department employees at a town hall meeting that she “is ready to step off the high wire of American politics.” It could be the political stress is taking its toll on her and she chose not to ‘stress’ over a trivial matter such as the color of a shirt.
