Former Disney Channel star Hilary Duff has a reason to celebrate this weekend: she is engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Edmonton Oilers star Mike Comrie. Photographers caught the NHL star proposing to Duff in Maui on Friday, and she has since been the talk of much of Hollywood.
Hockey stars have recently generated buzz thanks to their relationships to Hollywood celebrities -- another popular singer, former "American Idol" winner Carrie Underwood, recently announced her engagement to Ottawa Senators star Mike Fisher.
Although Duff's star has faded over the course of the past few years, one could argue that her success on "Lizzie McGuire" helped to pave the way for Miley Cyrus and "Hannah Montana." Some of Duff's popular songs include "So Yesterday" and "Coming Clean."
