On July 28 American actress and singer-songwriter Hilary Duff released an official music video for the single "Chasing the Sun" on her VEVO YouTube channel. The video was directed by Matthew Rolston, who previously worked with Duff on her "With Love" music video. You can watch Hilary Duff's official "Chasing the Sun" music video here.

The storyline based music video features Duff as an office worker. While at work she daydreams about being on vacation. She imagines herself on a beach being massaged by a good looking man. She also dreams about playing volleyball on the beach, and running into the ocean. At the end of the "Chasing the Sun" music video Duff begins to throw water on her employees while in a meeting. That stunt gets her fired.

The song "Chasing the Sun" is the lead single from Duff's upcoming fifth studio album. The single was produced by Toby Gad and Colbie Caillat was one of the writers for the song. No official release date or album title has been announced, but it will be released via RCA Records.

The last full length studio album Duff released was "Dignity" in April 2007. That song reached No. 3 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. It featured the singles "With Love," "Play With Fire," and "Stranger".

Since the release of her last studio album Duff got married, and had a child. She is currently separated from her husband. She also went back to acting during her musical hiatus. She had guest spots on such television shows as "Gossip Girl," "Raising Hope," "Two and a Half Men," and "Community". She is also set to co-star on the upcoming TV Land sitcom "Younger".
