Remember back when Jonah Hill's plan to remake 1980s teen cop drama 21 Jump Street sounded like the most awful of awful ideas? Well, that was before the comedy, which co-starred Channing Tatum, surprised everybody with $200M and was arguably the funniest movie of the year. Sequels pose a whole new set of problems, though, but the first red band trailer for 22 Jump Street is extremely promising.
Hill and Tatum are back, along with the ever-angry Ice Cube, and this time the bumbling pair of do-gooders is headed off to college. What are they up to? Stopping another drug dealer and indulging in the college traditions of crazy parties, hard drinking, and...well, more parties. Looks as ridiculously over the edge as the first film, which to my mind was Tatum at his absolute best. He may be even funnier here.
22 Jump Street opens June 13th 2014. Check out the red band trailer plus here's the international version.
