Cabrillo National Monument is a National Park near Point Loma, San Diego. The park has a couple different hiking trails, the most scenic being the Coastal Tidepool Trail. You can also visit the Old Point Loma Lighthouse or the Visitor Center to learn more about the history of the region.
The park is picture perfect from every angle. The coast is lined with remarkable sandstone cliffs. For a beautiful, natural photo backdrop you have your choice between the rocky coast extending into the clear water, or the beautiful sedimentary layers of the cliffs.
The shore is home to many tide pools and wildlife. There are several tide pool areas along the San Diego Coast, but this is one of the most preserved tidal systems in the county. This makes it a prime location to spot star fish, sea urchins, and other creatures in the tide pools.
