Save on gas by saving on driving while still getting some exercise in. This is very easy to do if you choose to hike on the Woodward Park Trail. The Woodward Park trail begins just off of North Friant Road in Fresno at East Champlain Drive in Fresno. You can save money by parking at East Copper Avenue or in the Perrin area neighborhood. There is a hiking or jogging loop that goes in a jogging or hiking circle just west of North Friant Road from Perrin to Champlain. If you want to take this hiking and jogging experience in Fresno to the max you can continue from the north of the loop trail to a one way trail. This Fresno trail starts west of North Friant Road and north of East Champlain. It goes around the river and past serveral Fresno preservation areas. It also passes a Fresno cement and gravel factory. It then continues almost parallel to North Friant Road. It passes by some Fresno mansionettes and some Fresno fields. It ends at East Copper Avenue. if you want to continue hiking or jogging you can continue along the Fresno Clovis Railroad trails. These Fresno trails can take you all the way to Clovis and end around Clovis Avenue and Ashlan Avenue.
The best part of the hiking and jogging opportunity is that it is free as long as you do not park in Woodward Park. If you park there then you would have to pay a parking fee at most times.
