Bishop Peak Trail is an amazing trail a few hours from Fresno. The hiking trail is located by San Luis Obispo California. It is an amazing hiking trail that is accessible year round. The hiking trail is not technical so great for any skill level. Some of the areas are close to edges so it is not recommended for bikes.
Since there is quite a bit of scrambling it can be a great work out despite the short hiking length. The hiking trail has amazing views from start to finish. The hiking trail is amazing at dusk. If you begin the hiking trail in the early afternoon you can reach the peak around dusk. At dusk the views from the top are amazing as the fog comes in. Face the sun for the most amazing views. The hiking trail is a bit tough in the dark on the way down so make sure to bring headlamps for the way down. The hiking trail is similar in complexity to Hollister Peak trail near Cuesta College.
You can try both trail heads if you want an extra long hiking experience. The hiking trail is just a couple miles from downtown San Luis Obispo. The hiking trail at the Foothile side is extremely strenuous at the beginning and requires a steep climb over boulders to reach the trail. The other trail head is much easier, but is a bit busier.
