Once again, the Highwaymen MC of Bridge Street in Ilion, NY hosted their annual Winter Breakout Bash to a livey crowd of friends and supporters on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at the Silverado in Herkimer, New York. Luckily, New Yorkers were treated to a short reprieve from the nasty weather on that day, as we woke up to the sun shining and the temperature close to the 50’s.
Despite all the “slush” in the parking lot of the Silverado, there was nothing slushy inside (LOL), as guests were greeted by some fine members of the Highwaymen MC and of course treated to some of the best food anyone can find at a biker-related event. Nobody leaves a Highwaymen party hungry, that’s for sure. And if you are lucky enough to know and become a friend of these people, no matter how much time passes before you get together again, your presence is always acknowledged, appreciated, and feels more like a family reunion!
The Curtiss Road Blues Band played a great variety of music and was the perfect complement for the crowd. Their covers of the classics were really awesome. As always at this time of the year, there was excitement in the air and the strong, unspoken anticipation of the riding season ahead. We know there are only a few short weeks till Spring and we’re all just itching to get the bikes out and RIDE. There were, in fact, a few brave riders at the party, who, despite the snowbanks still dominating our landscape, were determined to go out and play with Mother Nature for a little while. That’s the New York Rider spirit!
Bravo to the Highwaymen MC of New York for another great celebration of brotherhood, loyalty, and friendships.
Don’t miss the Highwaymen MC West Anniversary Party on March 15, 4:00-8:00 p.m., at Casey’s Tavern, 7749 River Rd., Rome, NY; $20 per person.
