Per a recent press release, fans of Pixar's Ratatouille will soon have the chance to experience an adventure with Rémy the rat when the anticipated attraction finally opens on July 10 in Disneyland Paris' Walt Disney Studios park. Over the past few years anxious enthusiasts have discussed and photographed the emerging architecture and details of the announced ride and its Parisian-themed surroundings.
This exciting addition to the Disneyland Paris menu brings a new land of sorts as well as the resort's 60th attraction. More than just a ride, the project also includes a 370-seat table service restaurant featuring French cuisine, of course, in an upscale environment that references the aesthetic of the eatery seen during the finale of the associated attraction. The ride itself sports a rather lengthy title, Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy, and endeavors to send guest on an adventure through the perspective of a Parisian rat. In describing the innovative experience, Disney was quick to tout the way in which riders will view the scenery.
The culinary world of the Disney•Pixar film Ratatouille comes to life in Ratatouille L’Aventure Totalement Toquée De Rémy (Ratatouille – The Adventure), a first-of-its-kind Disney attraction that uses trackless ride vehicles matched to an enormous 3D projection system featuring original animation from Pixar Animation Studios.
The ride vehicles themselves warrant mention as well.
The adventure begins when guests come on board a “ratmobile,” a vehicle that looks like a cute version of our furry friends from the film.
Even more notable is the "trackless" system employed by the ratmobile ride cars. Having used this technology earlier to great success with Pooh's Hunny Hunt in Tokyo Disneyland, Disney's team aims to give guests an innovative experience where the car's next move through the kitchens and low areas of Paris is a mystery. From rooftops to the floor of chef Gusteau's great restaurant, riders will zip and zoom through the new attraction whilst nimbly avoiding the gaze of the film's antagonist, Chef Skinner.
The delicious culinary adventure begins July 10, only in Disneyland Paris.
