Many car enthusiasts will be reminiscing about the 41st Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale AZ. Saturday sales were record-breaking. The final vehicles were sold Sunday bringing a close to one of the most memorable world-renowned Barrett-Jackson Events. Three more collector car auctions are scheduled for 2012. Here are a few of the highlights of the January 2012 auction and a schedule of the upcoming Barrett-Jackson Event locations.
More than 250,000 visitors passed through the gates for the spectacular parade of collector cars and cutting edge technology presented on the auction block. Many came to witness and dream and some came to become the fortunate new owners who took home pristine automotive workmanship. Here are some of the highlights:
- The top of the six-figure sellers was the 1948 Tucker Torpedo (Lot #5008) - sold for $2.65 million
- The very rare 1933 Pierce Arrow Silver Arrow (Lot # 5002) from the Don William’s Black Hawk Collection – sold for $2.5 million
- The successful postwar 1947 Bentley Franay Mark VI Cabriolet (Lot #5005) was purchased for $2.5 million plus 10 % bidder fee.

Charity Highlights
- The popular 1964 Ford Fairlane 500 Custom 2DR Hardtop sold for $1 million – the proceeds went to the Armed Forces Foundation
- American Idol winner Jordin Sparks’ family-owned pink 1973 Ford Mustang raised $37,000 for the MAD GIRLS INC
- Ironman Foundation was the benefactor of the proceeds from the sale of the unique 1932 Ford Hi Boy V8 Roadster. The “Medal of Honor” vehicle with the trunk signed by more than 40 Medal of Honor recipients raised $150,000 to provide scholarships for children of wounded and slain soldiers.
- The amazing 2012 Ford Mustang GT Custom Coupe sold for $160,000 for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Each time Westworld of Scottsdale AZ opens the gates to the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction the community becomes energized with the spectacular and inspirational event. Communities, charities and car enthusiasts benefit in so many ways. Although the tents at Westworld will close the doors for this collector car event, now is the perfect time to plan for another Barrett-Jackson event.
