Highlights from Vivienne Tam's Fall 2014 presentation

Today on Feb. 13 is excited to share our review for Vivienne Tam's Fall 2014 presentation. Delicate textures inspired by the hidden treasures of Dunhuang, were seen in earth tones of sepia, carnelian, lapis lazuli, and jade green. The beautiful collection had a wide range of maxi dresses in a conservative style, to metallic psychedelic prints and leather Bermuda. We loved that Tam captured ancient frescoes through digital prints, and added new artwork inspired by them. The transition of the different selection of looks was achieved harmoniously.

The collection also included handbags that were inspired by the intricate patterns of the Dunhuang caves. One of the looks was monochromatic red. The red ribbon trim with sheer sleeve and applique cuff dress with leather culotte and red pump was an intricate spectacle of a Valentino red. A black and gold lace gown with sheer sleeves and embroidered cuff and choker was the perfect ending to encompass the entire Vivienne Tam collection.

Guests that we spotted in the front row included: Phillip Bloch, Lady Liliana Cavendish, Sarita Choudhury, Donna D’Cruz, Hofit Golan, Sonia Nassery Cole, Adepero Oduye, Angela Simmons, Louise Roe, Kelly Rutherford, Jean Shafiroff, Teyana Taylor, Tashiana Washington, Eric West, Jiang Xin (award winning Chinese Actress) and more.

Fun fact: "Well known for technology collaborations with Hewlett-Packard, Monster and Square, Vivienne Tam partnered with WeChat, bringing the app to Mercedes Benz Fashion Week for the first time and integrating a Group Chat about the show. Vivienne Tam also shared exclusive behind the scenes information and updates on the collection for those who downloaded the free app and added VTAMFASHION as a contact, which was easy enough to do from the QR codes embedded in the design of the limited edition iPhone 5/5S cases on the show seats, which were inspired by the Fall 2014 main collection," the designer announced.
