On April 4-5, 2014, Lucky held its third annual West Coast Lucky Magazine Fashion and Beauty Blogger (FABB) Conference at the SLS Hotel in Los Angeles, presented by P & G Grooming and Beauty.

Lucky is the ultimate shopping resource for fashion and beauty authority for the style-obsessed woman, highlighting the best of style, from the runway, everyday woman and digital influencers. The two-day event brought out the top fashion and beauty bloggers in the digital space.

Style conversations hosted by Evan Chen, Lucky Editor-In-Chief, featured Sophia Amoruso, Founder and CEO, Nasty Gal, style maven and Creative Director, House of Harlow 1960, Nicole Richie and supermodel Coco Rocha.

Technology is a big part of the fashion and beauty industry and Lucky FABB kicked it off with a panel on “Next Level Tech” with Raman Kia, Executive Director, Integrated Strategy, Condé Nast, Stephanie Mark, Director and Co-Founder, The Coveteur and Hilary Peterson, Head of Business Development, Lyst. The panelists offered tips on staying ahead of the technological curve and some of the newest platforms, plug-ins, and apps to help your content stand out.

A FABB first was COVERGIRL, Olay Fresh Effects, Pantene and Secret presents “Insta #IRL Beauty School.” For those unfamiliar, IRL is the acronym for In Real Life. The session led by professional makeup artist Kirin Bhatty gave insights on how you can look as good in real life as you do on Instagram without the help of your favorite filter app. The session provided beauty must-haves to enhance your features.

Additional breakout sessions included:
Grow Your Traffic and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Checklist - How to get more traffic and prominent keyword traction so that your blog shows up first in a Google search.
How to Take the Best Videos - Offering pointers on how to take the best images and videos that are well-composed, well-lit and thought out. YouTube sensation, “Miss Glamorazzi,” Ingrid Nielsen gave recommendations on how to make the best videos for your subscribers.
Working with Brands – Experienced bloggers and company representatives discussed how they avoid commercializing posts while successfully partnering with advertisers to monetize their content.

Agent 101 – What are the pros and cons of using an agent? Do you need one and when is the right time to sign with an agent? Bloggers who work with and without management representation offered their insight on paid representation.
Next Level Personal Style – Celebrity stylist Heidi Bivens, supermodel Karolina Kurkova and Song of Style Creator, Aimee Song discussed various ways to create your personal style and look with the latest trends into your wardrobe.

The New Look of Digital – Cassandra Husentruyt, Founder of beauty editorial and e-commerce site Violet Gray, along with March Violet Grey cover star and actress January Jones, and Eva Chen, Lucky Editor-In-Chief discussed how high-quality content is changing the way we shop on line as consumers.

Day 2 of the conference was a blogger networking brunch bringing attendees together to gather and share information.
