Highlands Ranch parks voted Best of the Best by Colorado Community Media readers

Highlands Ranch Metro District parks facilities received five Best of the Best Awards from Colorado Community Media. The awards are voted on by the public in a variety of categories each year. Metro District park facilities receiving the Best of the Best distinction include:

Redstone and Civic Green Parks are two of the community’s most popular outdoor destinations. Redstone Park is a 53-acre park located in western Highlands Ranch at 3280 Redstone Park Circle. It is a hub of activity all year long for athletes, anglers, skateboarders and outdoor enthusiasts.

Redstone Park features four baseball fields, seven football/soccer fields, a skate park, playground and fishing pond. In addition, the park is home to Shea Stadium, Lebsack Tennis Center, Batter Up! Batting Cages and Rover’s Run, winner of Best Dog Park for the second consecutive year.

Civic Green Park was the recipient of three Best of the Best Awards this year. The five-acre park is located in the heart of Highlands Ranch adjacent to the Highlands Ranch Town Center. Since opening in June 2005, the park has quickly become a favorite gathering place in Highlands Ranch providing outdoor activities for everyone. The unique features incorporated into the park’s design allow for a multitude of active and passive activities that attract thousands of visitors daily to the park during peak summer months.

Children are drawn to its three interactive water features on warm summer days, and adults can be found exploring the park’s two newest features, public art that is part of Douglas County’s Art Encounters public art program. In addition, a variety of community events are held here throughout the year. To view a current calendar of events at Civic Green Park, visit the Metro District’s website at www.highlandsranch.org.
