The Highlands Ranch Park & Recreation Foundation announces its support of Colorado Gives Day 2013 – an initiative to increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving to Colorado charities. Colorado Gives Day is Dec. 10, 2013. Last year $15.4 million was donated to Colorado charities on Colorado Gives Day.

“This is the first year the foundation has been a part of Colorado Gives Day and we are so thrilled to be part of it,” said Roy Mapp, foundation chair. “This initiative will help raise awareness of the foundation and the great work we are doing in the Highlands Ranch community. We hope our enthusiasm for Colorado Gives Day is contagious and people exceed our expectations with their generosity this year.”

Individuals interested in donating to the foundation can pre-schedule a Colorado Gives Day donation today at www.hrprf.org. Pre-scheduling a donation early is convenient and means you won’t forget to make a donation Dec. 10.

When you pre-schedule a donation, 100 percent of the donation goes directly to the foundation. In addition, the FirstBank Incentive Fund increases the value of every dollar donated so you are helping the foundation raise even more money!

To donate, visit www.hrprf.org and click the Donate Now button on the foundation’s home page. Once you begin the donation process make sure to check the box that says “Schedule a donation for Colorado Gives Day.” Once you complete the steps to donate, you will receive an email indicating your scheduled donation. A second email will be sent to you confirming the donation was made on Dec. 10.

Donations to the Highlands Ranch Park & Recreation Foundation will help support:

  • Youth scholarships for recreation programs
  • Trail improvements
  • Highlands Ranch tree program in parks and along major roads
  • Sports field improvements
  • Highlands Ranch Mansion furnishings
  • Flower and landscape beds in our parks
