Highland Park Mayor shot in Detroit club

Detroit,MI- What begin as a night out ended with a trip to the hospital.

Highland Park mayor DeAndre Windom was the victim of a gunshot after spending a night out with family amd friends. Police report shortly before 2 a.m this morning, Windom upon leaving the Key Club in downtown Detroit was shot by an unknown assailant.

The attorney for Highland Park say the mayor is recovering and wasn't involved with the altercation that sparked the shooting. Windom was the only person shot.

Bouncers from the club was able to detain the gunman until police made his arrest
