A high wind warning is in effect for all of Western New York from 7pm this evening through 4pm Thursday afternoon. Strong southwest winds will continue to increase this afternoon ahead of a strong cold front that will move through the region overnight tonight. Winds are expected to be in the range of 30-45mph with wind gusts that could approach 60mph through tomorrow. Expect scattered power outages as well as scattered debris throughout roads.

Strong low pressure will move to our north overnight and following the cold front west/northwest winds will set up lake-effect snows in the traditional snowbelts beginning early Thursday morning. Winter Storm Watches are already in effect for areas south of Buffalo and east of Lake Ontario.
