Snow is a four letter word – but it is one we are, unfortunately for some, allowed to say. It is certainly one we will all be experiencing shortly. The National Weather Service at Glasgow has some tough predictions for this winter. With so many new people in the region we asked Tanja Fransen, warning coordinator and meteorologist at the National Weather Service Glasgow office to explain to them and remind the rest of the communities what needs to be done to be prepared, especially if you are working out on the oil and gas fields.
In the audio to the left of this column, Fransen gives us the news that the region is likely to see in excess of eight feet of snow this winter with cold temperatures and high winds. She also explains easy strategies for staying safe and warm.
