High scores and tournaments

Hey kids and parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, coaches, don’t forget about the 2013 Florida State International Family Tournament. The tournament this year takes place in Palm Bay at Shore Lanes. Deadline to enter is March 2nd. The tournament is March 16 squads @ 1 pm & 4 pm OR March 17 at noon and 3 pm. You can send or drop by your paid entry to Tod Janssen at Twedt’s bowling center, as he is helping out with this tournament. Also if interested, Alex Ross from Liberty Lanes is putting together a bus trip for the March 17 @ noon squad. If you would be interested in this bus ride, you can contact Alex Ross at 397-3947 @ Liberty Lanes.

Ten Pins is having their Valentines Scotch Doubles on February 10 @ 1 pm - $20 per team. On February 16 @ 2 pm the Bill Jonas Fundraiser and March 10 Earl Gaudet Scholarship Fundraiser 8 pin no tap baker system.

Let’s not forget the 79th Annual Florida State USBC BA OPEN tournament is coming to our area. Liberty Lanes will be having the Team event and Seminole Lanes will have doubles/singles. Entry deadline is March 30th, and the entries go to Bob Peters in Ft. Myers. Don’t forget to get your entries in!!!

On February 9 @ 4 pm they will be having their Valentines Scotch Doubles – Open to all league bowlers. On February 16th @ 4 pm will be a doubles tournament. And on March 2 @ 4 pm will be their 9 pin no tap tournament. So come out and have some fun!!!

Bowling at Sunrise Lanes high scores – Vicki Vachelli 236-673, Chad Zaleski 296, Louis Misfeldt 289, five 279 games Tim Dunbar, Daniel Herrington, Tyler Kaley, Ian Atamian and Bobby Cupp.

The 9 or better tournament is still going strong. Week 1 winner – Matt Mayhugh with 18 times getting 9 or better, Week 2 Darryl Dempsey getting 9 or better 13 times and also winning Week 3 with 51 times getting 9 or better. February 10 at 1 pm is the 100 + tournament, entry fee is $50 Burkins Bowling Youth Tournament will be coming to Sunrise Lanes on March 17th. Twedts will be having their Valentines Scotch Doubles tournament on February 10th at 1 pm, $20 per team. Gulf Coast Youth City Championship Tournament takes place at Twedt’s on February 16 & 17th walk-ins are welcomed based on lane availability so if you can get your entries in ahead of time.

March 17 is their Droolalapooza Fundraiser @ 1 pm, raffles, auctions, 50/50. $15 per person.

Bowling at Seminole Lanes this week – Mike Bongiorno 300-773, Sean Crosby 300-767, Dan Shirley 290-782, Ken Hover 289-707, Mike Byrd 287-771, Dean Rosko 287-753, Chuck Minor 283, and 5 279 games, actually 6 279 games, as Greg Ickes shot 279-279-192-750 series, and the other 4 go out to Joe Butcher, Mark Taber, Josh Hemingway and Jeff Rohrs. Ladies were on fire as well, Mikki Mullins 268-676, Jean Slininger 268, Sherry Belcher 251-666, Judy Leitz 250-645. Youth bowlers, Sarah Sudduth 213 & Phillip Reckner 289-697.

January 100 + winners were Glenn Jessup & Roger King, the next 100 + tournament is March 24th.

The 9 or better tournament has been going well, Week 1 winner went to Bobby Redmond, Week 2 to James Gray, Week 3 to Ryne Podlas, and Week 4 to Dan Shirley. Congrats!!! Check their website for squad times.

On February 10 will be their new team tournament, Ruler of the House @ 1 pm. 4 person team $100 entry fee. On February 17, Mixed Doubles Sweetheart tournament @ 1 pm & 3 pm. Entry fee $50 & singles optional $25 entry fee.
