Friday night lights will have to be Saturday night lights for some around Eastern Maine this week.
The recent soaking rain has caused poor field conditions and forced some teams to move their scheduled Friday night football games to Saturday.
Lawrence at Mt. Blue is the most anticipated match up in Eastern Maine for week two. That game will now have to wait until Saturday at 7 p.m.
Madison at Belfast will also play tomorrow evening. Brewer at Cony has been rescheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m.
Old Town at Foxcroft Academy is still scheduled for 7 p.m. tonight. That game can be heard live right here starting around 6:55.
Other games that are still scheduled for this evening include Brunswick at Gardiner, Messalonskee at Skowhegan, Hermon at MDI, Ellsworth at Bucksport, Stearns at MCI, and Orono at Washington Academy.
The poor weather has also caused rescheduling in other sports.
The Piscataquis community high school (PCHS) Pirates girls soccer team was scheduled to make the trip to Howland for a contest against Penobscot Valley. That game will be made up on September 21st.
The girls soccer between Brunswick and Brewer will still be played today, but it has been moved to the turf of Hampden Academy. The varsity game will start at 3 p.m.
Ellsworth at John Bapst girls soccer has been postponed and will be played on September 16th.
Edward Little and Lewiston were scheduled to play each other in boys and girls soccer. Both games were postponed.
The John Bapst at Ellsworth boys soccer game scheduled for today has been rescheduled for October 7th.
Field hockey games that were postponed include Cony at Edward Little and Leavitt at Oceanside.
