“High School Musical” reunion news has had the internet buzzing. Several cast members from the “High School Musical” films had a pseudo reunion on Friday night (Aug. 29) as part of a contest that had been held. According to a report from E Online from Saturday (Aug. 30), Ashley Tisdale, Vanessa Hudgens, Monique Coleman, Corbin Bleu, director Kenny Ortega, and choreographer Chucky Klapow were all there. Prize winner and superfan named Camilla got to have the time of her life as part of it all.
Zac Efron was said to be filming his movie “We Are Your Friends” and couldn’t be in attendance. It’s hard not to flashback to an earlier report where Efron was interviewed about possibly doing another film with the cast in the future. That report quoted him as saying, “We’re all thinking about it. I continue to see all the guys from ‘HSM.’ Every time we do…there's just this look between us. It's so cool because we never forget a single moment of that experience." That got the buzz going even before what took place during this dinner.
This “High School Musical” reunion is certainly going to add to the buzz about the cast wanting to get together in the future, but it remains to be seen if the audience that loved those films is interested in seeing a fourth chapter. Maybe it wouldn’t have to be another musical, though, as most of the cast have had dramatic roles since they left the successful Disney project. The positive response from the cast simply having dinner together seems to indicate that there is still interest.
