The thirty-second part of this unit is a continuation of Les Misérables. Use the following information for classroom instruction.
Use the text Les Misérables by Victor Hugo. The edition that can be found here will work best. However, if students are unable to purchase this version, any other edition will do as well as the free electronic versions: a downloadable copy and an online copy. Note that the pages numbers used throughout this unit will reflect the recommended edition; however, the lessons will be set up so that other editions can be used.
Instruct students to read Book Seven of The Idyll in the Rue Plumet and the Epic of the Rue Saint-Denis, “Argot” on pages 1214-1232 of Les Misérables. Students should take notes on the reading.
Go over the slideshow (included in this article with more elaborate points) as an analysis of Les Misérables. It is titled “Les Misérables - Part Thirty-Two.”
