High pressure will build across the region for the first day of summer bringing warm and dry conditions under sunny skies. High pressure will remain in control on Monday, but will begin to slide south of the region, with continued above normal temperatures.

A warm front and associated disturbance will then approach the region by late Monday with increasing chances of showers and thunderstorms along with humid weather returning into Tuesday. A few strong thunderstorms are also possible as the region gets into the warm sector of the system. A weak front will then settle across the mid-Atlantic into mid-week and stall out with unsettled and muggy weather continuing through Thursday. The boundary should finally settle further to the south into late week, allowing dry weather to return.
