High pressure brings plenty of sunshine and chilly temperatures (Video)

High pressure will build in to the region today with plenty of sunshine, but remaining cold. As the high slides offshore tonight, a warm front will begin to approach into Monday with a period of light snow transitioning to a wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain from Monday afternoon into early Tuesday morning. Warmer air will then arrive into mid-week ahead of a strong cold front with near record high temperatures possible.

Today – Mostly sunny with some increasing high clouds late. High 21-25. Winds northwest between 5 and 10 mph.

Tonight – Mostly clear this evening with increasing clouds. Low 6-10. Winds northwest around 5 mph.

Monday – Cloudy with snow likely by late morning and into the afternoon. High 28-32. Winds south between 5 and 10 mph. Chance of snow 80 percent. Snow accumulation around 1 to 3 inches.

Monday Night – Cloudy with snow and sleet likely in the evening, mixing with and changing to rain or freezing drizzle after midnight. Low 27-31. Winds south between 5 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation 70 percent.
