Rob Gordon is thirty, immature, owns an unsuccessful record shop, Championship Vinyl, and has just been dumped by his fed up, long time girlfriend, Laura. Attempting to play it cool around his friends, Rob pretends that the breakup was less than devastating. He boasts to his co-workers about his ultimate top five girlfriends claiming that Laura didn’t even make the list. Yet over time, Rob realizes both what he has lost and what he will never get back again unless he changes his childish ways. Performed by the Landless Theatre Company at the D.C. Arts Center in Adams Morgan, High Fidelity, directed and choreographed by Julie Herber, is an astounding performance packed with great music, drama, and laugh out loud comedy for everyone to enjoy.
The intimacy of the DCAC’s 50-seat theatre allows the audience to feel as if they’re right in with the action. Never have I seen a cast explode with such energy and animation like this before. Starring Stephen G. Smith as Rob, and 2009 D.C. Theatre Scene Performer of the Year, Karissa Swanigan as Laura, the two light up the stage with their amazing vocals and dynamic performances. Rob's hilarious comrades, Barry, played by Andrew L. Baughman, Dick, Josh Speerstra, and the store’s odd ball customer “T.M.P.M.I.T.W” -the most pathetic man in the world”, played by Juan C. Sanchez, are sure to keep you laughing.
Tonight's 7:30 P.M. show is the last night for this Landless Theatre Company production but tickets are still on sale for $25.00 by visiting LandlessTheatreCompany.org. The play is a must see so make sure you check it out!
