It has been two years since the last ‘Silent Hill’ game was released for the Playstation Vita. Fans have been anxious to see a ‘Silent Hill’ for the latest console generation, and it seems Kojima is ready to deliver.
At Gamescom in Cologne, Germany earlier today, Sony released a playable demo called ‘P.T’ for their next horror game. As it turns out, the demo was actually a playable teaser for a brand new ‘Silent Hill’ created by ‘Metal Gear Solid’s’ Hideo Kojima and horror film director Guillermo del Toro.
At the very end of the teaser, a lone character is shown walking down an empty street before turning to the camera to reveal that the it is none other than actor Norman Reedus, better known as Daryl Dixon from AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead.’ Reedus will play the main character of the next game, which is called ‘Silent Hills’ according to the title accompanied by the series theme shown in the teaser. Currently little is known about the game other than the ominous voice heard in the teaser.
The game was credited to 7780 Studios, an unknown developer that may be a pseudonym. Kojima has done this in the past when he announced ‘The Phantom Pain’ by ‘Moby Dick Studios’, which was later revealed to be ‘Metal Gear Solid 5.’
Guillermo del Toro, who has directed a wide variety of films ranging from ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’ to ‘Pacific Rim,’ will be making his second venture into game development. Originally he was set to head the horror trilogy ‘Insane’ before THQ had to cancel the project.
