If someone were to ask, “What can you do that might surprise others?” What response would you give them? Perhaps you might shy away without giving a response or, if you’re adventurous, maybe you’ll jump into action and demonstrate your hidden talent.
Hidden talents are reflective of your inner child; a day when time was without boundaries and creativity was effortless!
What bag of tricks can you pull out to entertain? Everyone, even you, can entertain in a heartbeat if you were to let go of your anxieties and just have crazy fun.
Think back to elementary years, come on, it wasn’t that long ago! Okay, maybe it was but with a thought to surface it, it is just like riding a bike, you can re-create the magic! Things like balancing stuff on your head, fitting your fist into your mouth, making popping sounds with joints on your body, twisting your tongue, be-bopping with your mouth, creating shadow characters or maybe you’re double jointed, this list can go on and on.
If your talent didn’t involve your body, maybe you remember magic tricks or you’re did things like Jacob’s ladder with a string or you were able to Walk the Dog with a yoyo.
Are you coming around yet?
Maybe your talent turned into your career, how cool would that be? Perhaps you doodled a lot and now you’re a cartoonist. Or, you were the friend everyone ran to for a listening ear and now you’re a counselor or Psychologist. Everyone knew a class clown, maybe this talent (not so hidden) turned into a career as a stand up comedian. What hidden talent might this group bring forward?
The message in this article is to keep your inner child alive. Have fun, childish goofy fun, the kind that doesn’t require spending money. Many times it involves the God given tools that were in your possession when you were born! This fun is priceless and it gifts the best medicine; it is an holistic approach to stress relief. Make it part of your life as often as possible; allow your inner child to heal your life.
