Hidden Mickey Series: Magic Kingdom's Fantasyland

Well the time has come my little friends to dive head first into the first of four major theme parks in Walt Disney World and search for Hidden Mickeys. What are Hidden Mickeys (HMs) you ask? If you don't know then all you have to do is check out my first article all about them.

Hidden Mickey Series: What exactly are Hidden Mickeys?

Starting out in the Magic Kingdom seems like the best idea honestly because it is Walt Disney's baby so that's why I'll pay full respect to it. Magic Kingdom is split up into seven differently themed lands, each having a host of attractions, shows, and restaurants. The restaurants will come at a later time so I'm mostly going to give you all the tips and tricks you need (some quite obvious) to search for HMs throughout the park.

Remember, this is a great way to get those rebellious teenagers or adults thinking it's all too "kiddie" to truly enjoy Disney World again. Ignite the magical spark in them again and let them know that on the happiest place on earth really is just that...but for everyone.

Over the course of multiple articles, I'm going to let you know exactly where to look in each ride to find the Mickeys. But be forewarned that these articles are going to give you exact locations of all the HMs I know about so either they'll be spoiled for you or now you'll know just where to look. Also, some may not be listed here but that's simply because I've never found them so there may always be some for you to find on your own. Not all of these are confirmed and some are actually quite skeptical, but still worth a look. So without further delay, let's start with Magic Kingdom's Fantasy Land.

Cinderella Castle

~ The railings and walkways of the castle have many cut-outs that are in tri-circle patterns and during certain times of the day, the sun shines through these patterns and casts a Mickey-ish shape on the ground. It seems feasible but the tri-circle is too perfect and not two smaller circles and one larger one like the original Mickey head silhouette.

Cinderella's Golden Carousel

~ I have yet to find an actual HM on this attraction and refuse to ask because it's just more fun to do it myself, but a hint or two would be fantastic. If anyone can provide me with some clues then please do so by e-mailing me at dacox415@yahoo.com.

Dumbo the Flying Elephant

~ None that I have yet found. Again, help me out if you know.

Peter Pan's Flight

~ In the queue area, there is a group of trees near the turnstiles. If you on one of the middle trees and about halfway up there is a dark-colored spot that is actually a traditional tri-circle Mickey head.

~ Check out the blocks in the kids' nursery (first room) and you'll see that they spell out "P PAN" and "DISNEY."

~ When flying through Never Land, the volcano mountain has some flowers near the top and three of them are proportioned and positioned correctly for Mickey's head. Sitting on the right side of your flying ship allows you to see this one easier.

It's A Small World

~ Africa Room: Near the exit of the room and on the ceiling there is a string of purple leaves. Each life is a perfect tri-circle Mickey head.

Snow White's Adventures

~ In the outside queue, check out the laundry line hanging from the Dwarf's cottage. On that line is a pair of boxers with designs that look like hearts from a distance but they're actually a bunch of Mickey heads.

~ Three stones on the chimney of the Dwarf's cottage also form Mickey's head.

~ The first room in which you see the Evil Queen looking into the mirror and she turns around to reveal the Wicked Witch is a place to spot an easy one. Check out the top of the mirror for a traditional tri-circle HM.

The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh

~ Rabbit's Garden has a very small HM head on the center sign which shows where his radishes are planted.

~ My favorite HM (hidden character) out of all lies in Owl's House. After entering, turn to your left and look back to see a picture of Mr. Toad handing over a deed to Owl. It's sort of a tribute the greatest ride that should have never been taken out and replaced, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Winnie the Pooh's ride took over for where it once stood and as you can see, Mr. Toad handed over the rights to his building. Unfortunately.

Mad Tea Party

~ Help me out here those that know.

Mickey's PhilharMagic

~ The queue area has a lot of silver or white dots all along the wall and a few places has the dots close enough together and proportioned correctly to form Mickey's head.

~ When Ariel throws jewelry at the screen during her scene time, check out the inside of the rings she pitches at you. They form a perfect tri-circle HM.

Well that covers all the rides and attractions in Fantasyland. Once I go through all the different lands and other areas in Magic Kingdom, I'll return to go through restaurants and merchandise areas. Yes, there are even HMs scattered throughout those. Amazing what you didn't know before eh?

Please feel free to let me know if there are any I've missed or that you think are truly there. Oh, and for those that are brand new to the world of Hidden Mickeys? Don't let searching for them ruin your trip to the happiest place on Earth please. Always make sure that you are taking in everything and enjoying all you can while there with friends and family. Hidden Mickeys are fun to look for and find, but there really is so much to do that you don't want to be on a wild goose chase for your entire trip. But for those believing Disney is behind them, then HMs could be their saving grace.
