The Museum of Design Atlanta, or MODA, is one of the city's most interesting niche museums. Located directly across the street from the massive Woodruff Arts Center, MODA is a great complement to the impressive stature of the High Museum. If you're looking for a different museum experience, or a way to introduce your children to the wide range of subjects that can be covered by museums, consider stopping in to MODA to check out the latest exhibit.
Current, MODA is focusing on Hidden Heroes, exploring the stories behind the invention of some of our most commonly used objects. You will learn the inspiration behind the creation of Post-It notes, facial tissues, hangers, paperclips, and other items you probably use daily and take for granted. MODA also proudly has on display 3D printers from Makerbot, and there are several classes you can take to learn how to use the printer. They have classes for kids to make their own Minecraft accessories, and adults can make jewelry, toy cars, or other creations.
Check out MODA's web site for specific information on class times and dates. The Hidden Heroes exhibit runs through May 11.
