Hibernian Pub in North Raleigh opens tomorrow and restaurant openings

Good news for fans of the Hibernian Pub that have been missing the downtown Raleigh location of the Irish-themed bar since it suffered a devastating fire last December. According to its Twitter, The North Raleigh location of the Hibernian Pub opens its doors tomorrow, March 7, at 8021 Falls of the Neuse Road, just in time for St. Patrick’s Day. Hibernian Pub also has a location in Cary at 1144 Kildaire Farm Road.

In Cameron Village, an upscale bar and restaurant called The OC Bar & Grill will open soon at 1028 Oberlin Road. Hoping to lure sports enthusiasts in with its numerous televisions to catch games, The OC Bar and Grill also aims to keep fans well-fed with its menu of American fare made in-house, a rotating list of draft beers, and a selection of hand-crafted cocktails.

In case you missed this report from The Herald-Sun, Ed Mitchell, former pitmaster of The Pit announced that he and his son are currently scouting for a location in Durham for his own barbecue restaurant. Mitchell and The Pit parted ways in 2011. Meanwhile, according to Laura Oleniacz’s report, Greg Hatem of Empire Eats (Gravy, Sitti, Morning and Raleigh Times) also announced that a second location of The Pit, known for its whole-hog barbecue, will be opening next to Fullsteam Brewery. The Durham location of The Pit will feature a second floor patio and an open dining area.

If you’re salivating at the thought of barbecue, Clyde Cooper’s BBQ in downtown Raleigh invites you to celebrate porcine goodness at its 75th Anniversary Party and SPCA Fundraiser this Saturday, March 9. Five bucks nets you entrance into the party featuring a pitmaster competition and live music from Under Cover. The celebration begins at 11 a.m. and will last until 4 p.m. For more information about the anniversary party, see here.

And in case you were wondering, construction is underway on the Raleigh location of The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar. The Charlotte-based restaurant known for its mix of gourmet burgers and sushi will open soon in the Captrust Tower in the North Hills shopping center, next to Yard House and World of Beer.
