If you're an HGTV and DIY fan, you'll want to get out to the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival on as many weekends as possible between now and May 18. Each weekend, stars from those two networks appear on the Designers Stage to share their tips and hints on how to spruce up your own home and garden.

Vern Yip of "Trading Spaces" and "Design Star" kicked things off for the first weekend with a spirited presentation on how to use flowers and vases to brighten up your home. Click the slideshow accompanying this article for some scenes from his talk. It was especially exciting because he gave away ten prize bags to audience members who answered questions based on the presentation, and I managed to score one. I now have an autographed copy of HGTV magazine and vase.

You can get your own autograph from the celebrity of your choice, as they greet guests after their presentations at Epcot. Yip appears through March 9, and here's the rest of the schedule:

  • Chris Lambton, March 14 to 16
  • Matt Blashaw, March 21 to 23
  • Matt Muenster, March 28 to 30
  • Taniya Nayak, April 4 to 6
  • John Gidding, April 18 to 20
  • David Bromstad, April 25 to 27
  • Chip Wade, May 2 to 4
  • Genevieve Gorder, May 9 to 11
  • Alison Victoria, May 16 to 18

Seating is first come, first served, and the celebrity talks are free with your regular park admission. The talks are held in the Festival Center at Epcot, a great place to visit because they're just one of the many happenings there. To see what else is in the Festival Center, go to this article.
