What do HGTV and Radio City Music Hall have in common? Why the brilliant and talented design eye of Thom Filicia of course. Kicking off the holiday spirit, the trio has teamed up for the 2011 edition of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. “We are thrilled to partner this year with interior designer Thom Filicia for his HGTV holiday special as he captures the illustrious design of Radio City,” says Rich Claffey, senior vice president and general manager of Radio City and Rocketteoperations. “It is going to provide our audiences with an unforgettable experience from the moment they walk through the doors for the new 2011 edition of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular.”
Premiering on Thanksgiving Day (November 24th), the HGTV one-hour special (to air at 9pm EST) will take viewers behind the scenes of the glamorous venue to include a sneak peek of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular featuring the amazing Radio City Rockettes. “As a long-time fan of the Rockettes, it’s such an honor and privilege to get my kicks off stage by dressing Radio City Music Hall for the holidays,” notes Thom Filicia. Part of Filicia’s design plans includes a renovation of the Grand Foyer and Lounge with a posh Swarovski crystal tree, wreaths and more.
As an added bonus, HGTV will soon host a Radio City Giveaway contest (begins on Thursday, November 17th) to include an amazing package with the following:
- Round-trip airfare to New York City
- Tickets to the 2011 Radio City Christmas Spectacular
- Ground transportation
- Hotel accommodations
