Taste of Flagler, the annual event that engages our various restaurants with the foodie community of Flagler County, celebrates its 20th year in 2013. I know this because I've been honored to have been selected to serve on the planning committee for this event, along with fellow Examiner Mark Woods.
The Taste of Flagler is an opportunity for attendees to sample the representative dishes of each restaurant that participates, and then vote for their favorites. The categories are typically best appetizer, entree, dessert, and overall favorite. Tastes will be served in three sizes and event goers will purchase tickets according to what they want to try.
What's different about this year's event? The biggest change is that it will be held on a Saturday night: April 20th at 5:30 pm to be exact. The admission will only be $5 per person. And just like last year, Taste of Flagler will be held at Central Park in Palm Coast Town Center. We think all of these factors will equal a very enjoyable and successful evening.
We want at least 20 local restaurants to participate in Taste of Flagler's 20th year and to encourage all establishments to get involved, there is no charge to participate (except for a small one if you desire electricity at your booth). Businesses that are already Flagler County Chamber members also receive a nice profit share from the event.
