Des Moines only German restaurant and beer hall, Hessen Haus will host a benefit on Sunday, January 26 for the Salvation Army and the Food Bank of Iowa. The Doppelbock Feast will start at 1 p.m. and will celebrate the creation of the Doppelbock (double bock). Gotpiggy.com will be roasting two hogs and Hessen Haus will be providing the sides. There will be a number of Doppelbock biers (beers) available for purchase (see below). A donation of five non-perishable food items (see list of needs below) or $10 cash for the Food Bank of Iowa, or a few items of clothing (in good condition) for the Salvation Army, will get you a wrist band to partake in the meal. There will also be a number of activities to participate in, including the crowning of a Sausage King and Queen, live music, live band karaoke, beer pong, a stein holding contest, prize drawings (for prizes including a Spaten Fire Pit, Ayinger t-shirts, and other prizes), and more.
Hessen Haus will have the following Doppelbocks on tap for the feast: Ayinger Celebrator, Einbecker Winterbock, Spaten Optimator, Schneider's Aventinus, Weihenstephan Korbinian, Kulmbacker Eisbock, Paulaner Salvator, Schneider's Aventunus Eisbock, and Hoffbrau Delicator. There will also be a number a Doppelbocks available in bottles.

100% fruit juice
Paper/personal products: toilet paper, paper towels, bar soap, diapers, and toothpaste.
Registration for the Doppelbock Olympics and Sausage King/Queen Contest will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Rainbow Penley & Jeremy Alvarez will provide live music from 3 to 6 p.m. Party! Party!
